Our Days at Sea and First Port of Call
- Kauai (Nawiliwili) |
| It remained cool and some rain when we were
departing from San Diego, it would emphasize the transition to the warm
tropical weather we'd experience in Hawaii. |
| After we borded, Stephen walked over to
Horton Plaza and bought a lovely bouquet of flowers to enjoy for our 4 day
crossing. |
| We had some fairly rough seas at times as we
crossed, the ship rocked quite a bit especially the first couple of days.
We enjoyed the sound of the waves against the ship. |

Our room steward, Fatcul always had the room ready for
us to reutrn after a meal. Even my pajamas were ready for a snug
night at sea. |

My Mum sent us a bottle of Asti to enjoy on the trip.
We had an invitation for the Cruise Critic sail away with Donald and
Cynthia in their penthouse suite. |

We really enjoyed the surprise of a balcony cabin,
initially we were going to have just a window but enjoyed many coffee and
crossants in the ocean air. |

I made a small ceramic disc in my pottery class with our
names and cruise info on it to toss at sea, its now at the bottom of the
ocean between San Diego and Hawaii. |

One of our first views of land after 4 days at sea, coming into Kauai. |
| We rented a car from Budget, they had a van
pick us up at the dock upon arrival. We drove out towards Waimea
Canyon, here are some of the first sights we stopped at. |

| After our drive up through Waimea Canyon, we
returned to the coast and went snorkeling at Poipu - there were fish in as
little as 2 feet of water! |
| Back on board, we enjoyed some of the ship's
tasty treats and beautiful Hawaiian sunset from up on deck. Tomorrow
we visit .. Honolulu where we will tour the island of Oahu. |
