| Stephen and I
had sailed on Mercury for its inaugural voyage. We took very few pictures of her so
this time, with my digital camera, I went wild and took quite a few. Hope you
enjoy browsing them, maybe they will inspire you to consider this beautiful ship, or
acquaint you with a future cruise home. Possibly, like for us, it may bring back
some great memories as well. |

We love the breadsticks on Celebrity ! Actually,
the last evening I asked our bus boy for some to take to snack on for our trip home at the
end of the cruise, and he came back with a big stack wrapped in foil ! Yum |
We were very fortunate to have
delightful tablemates. Always upbeat and interesting conversation at our table in
the evenings. |
 |
Since today was our Anniversary, we got
an Anniversary cake with the waiters singing Happy Anniversary to us. |

Woohoo ! the Baked Alaska Parade |
Later the same night.... The Grande
Buffet! |

Stephen and I doing Karaoke in Rendez
Vous Square |

On our balcony .. we have our own backlit "X" for Celebrity |
Lets tour the ship a bit ! Here's the
Martini Bar |
 |
 |
Here's where we did the Karaoke -
Rendez Vous Square |
I didn't go to the buffet for meals much, but I sure
did like a plate of pasta with one of their many featured cheese selections. The
pasta dishes were made with ingredients at your request at the pasta bar .. I like it
sautéed in garlic with tomato sauce. |

We had many visits to the Aquaspa - Fiona did my hair on a couple of
occasions, as well as a facial. Stephen and I both enjoyed the thallasotherapy pool
each day. |

The pool was a tad cool in Hawaii but I enjoyed a few refreshing swims!
|
 |
What's a Celebrity Cruise without a house Caribbean
Band? Even in Europe we sailed away to the sounds of the Caribbean in Italy! Here is
another one of their fine bands "Oaysis" up by the pool each afternoon. |

"Once cent, five cent, ten cent, dollar !"
|
Marta ! This is the lady that was in charge of
maintaining our room, she was like a pixie, most times in and out without us knowing and
we'd return to a neat, orderly suite upon our return. Marta has an assistant who
came by as well. |
 |

Whoa ! you wouldn't want to stare at this carpet too long after a few
martinis! |
 |
 |
Checking out the menu outside the Manhattan |
Waiting for a delectable dish! |

Lets see.. Iced coffee, juices and a chilled soup to start my lunch.
We had a few great chilled soups on this trip, Pear and Honey, Pear and Cinnamon
and Melon with Maple. |
Before returning to the Penthouse Deck,
I'm off to ... Vista Deck! |
 |

Cabin Tour ! Start with the bathroom .. a jetted tub |

it even has a phone "yes 2 cappuccino please?" |

A shower with a tap at waste level to use on your sandy feet from
spending a day at the beach. |

Blow dryer and mirror with shelving for your accessories, two sinks as
well. |

Lots of closet and drawer space as well as a vanity inside the walk-in
closet. Other drawer space available in the bedroom as well. |

Stephen gives me a funny look as he watches me taking photos all over
the suite. |

The living room in the Royal Suite has a large TV, VCR, CD and Cassette
player - we came equipped with some of our favourite CD's to listen to during the cruise. |

Our Butler Andi would bring us Cappuccinos whenever we would like -
which was often, as well as afternoon Tea and evening h'ors derves. |
The dining room table provided a nice spot for
cappuccino and tea when we weren't out on the balcony. |
I'd peek in the hall about 4pm and Andi would be
coming with his cart of goodies for afternoon tea. |
Each day we would watch the chart to see where we
were, this one is located near Guest Relations. |

 |
One final visit to the Spa for a facial! Fiona did a
great job. |
 |
 |

Stephen with a thought balloon ! Actually it was a piece of the
"Art" in our suite |

One of the best feature on Celebrity ships, in my opinion is the forward
observation lounge at the top of the ship, which is a disco at night. On Mercury,
its "Navigator's Club" |
Dance Dance Dance ! even equipped with
a mirror ball! |
 |
Big turnout for Bingo on the last day of the cruise in
the Celebrity Theatre |
 |
Our
last photo on Mercury - we had a very good cruise, lots of fun and it was very relaxing.
The Mercury was off to the Panama Canal after dropping us off. The transfer
from Ensenada, Mexico to San Diego airport was surprisingly very smooth and as comfortable
as you could expect. We even arrived early enough to grab an earlier flight. Mercury
will be off to South America soon, alas that won't be in our near future plans but maybe
someday.
Once again, Celebrity exceeded our expectations! |
