Here are a few pictures from a short cruise I took on the Sun a few years ago.  Check out the Alaska 2004 page for many photos and commentary on the Sun Princess to Alaska in 2004.

Los Angeles - Seattle - Victoria - Vancouver (5 nights)

I usually like to stay aboard the Queen Mary the night before a cruise out of Los Angeles.  It is very convenient to the Port of Los Angels and gets you in the ship mood!

I went on this cruise with my friend Rosie from Houston. This was her first visit to Canada, and her first cruise.  It was an opportunity for us to go on a trip together and for her to get a practice run for her 2 week British Isle cruise that she took later that summer.

Here we are in beautiful Victoria - the setting in "Butchart Gardens"My mother-in-law lives in Victoria and graciously took Rosie and I around to the sites.

This was too much fun ! When we arrived at Canada Place in Vancouver we checked into the Canadian Pacific Waterfront Hotel right across the street.   We had a great view of the ship and Rosie and I were endlessly entertained by the seagulls that perched at our window as we fed them..cashews !  Stephen was working in Washington State the week Rosie and I took this trip so he met up with us here and was able to watch the Sun Princess sail away. vancouver.jpg (35903 bytes)
whistler.jpg (24041 bytes) We took a trip to the Whistler ski resort area.  There is a gondola ride up to the top of the mountain and we had this great view.  It was Rosie's first time to see this much  snow and she had a real hard time walking on it.  Stephen and I pose by one of the many Canadian flags on the peak.
