Buenos Aires

Late morning on January 18th, we were on the River Platt, with the skyline of Buenos Aires ahead of us.

Arrival into Buenos Aires - At about 11:00am we started to see the skyline of Buenos Airies, and we arrived a little earlier than our anticipated 2pm arrival. We were to spend the day in BA and overnight onboard before heading home the next day.

The River Platt reminded me of the Mississippi River, very brown, but much wider.

We had a beautiful warm summer day.  We sat up on deck and the Carribean band was performing as we sipped on a pina colada.. it felt like we were starting a Caritbbean cruise !

We parkecd beside the Costa Tropical which was already in port upon our arrival.  Because this is a working dock, you are shuttled from the boat to the end of the pier since pedestrians are not permitted.  The port had many nice shops inside and also was a close walk to town.  Many taxis were available at the port as well.

I was really keen to see the wide boulevards of Buenos Aires, we drove up and down them as we saw the sights !

This was on a Saturday, not an excess of traffic in town, I wonder if it gets busy during the week at rush hour?

As we drove around this beautiful city on our tour, many people were sunbathing and relaxing in the many urban parks.  Apparently its 200 miles to a beach so the parks are quite busy on sunny days.

We visited a cemetary where Evita's crypt is located.. It was interesting seeing the mausoleums.
